f someone commits
a crime, and everyone’s around to see it
and does nothing, is it still a crime?”
–Jonathan Turley, Constitutional Law
Professor
America used to hang
people for waterboarding. We hanged
people for waterboarding in Dick
Cheney’s lifetime.
"I was aware
of the [torture] program, certainly,
and involved in helping get the
process cleared…that is the Agency
[The CIA] in effect came in and
wanted to know what they could and
couldn’t do. And they talked to me,
as well as others, to explain what
they wanted to do. And I supported
it.”
The world has had
evidence for a long time now that these
orders came from top administration
officials, but to hear a confession from
Cheney is still astonishing. He must be
damn confident he’ll never be
prosecuted.
Constitutional law
professor Jonathan Turley appeared on
Countdown last night discussing why it’s
imperative that the U.S. upholds its own
laws and not leave prosecutions up to
the Hague:
