The Sun’s Wednesday headline read; ‘Trained in Iran to kill our boys.’ Let’s get one thing clear, these are not “my boys.” I don’t remember giving birth to the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards and if I had, I would not have sent them to Iraq to commit war crimes for their Colonel in Chief, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. If Iranians want to help their Iraqi neighbours defeat an invading army, they have every right, it’s a free world, isn’t it?

However, Iraq’s ‘insurgent’ Mehdi army of Moqtada al-Sadr are also said to be receiving help from camps in Lebanon and Syria, as well as from Iran’s Elite Revolutionary Guard, which has resulted in the deaths of eight British soldiers. It is hardly an excuse to expand the war into these countries, but since when did the government need a valid reason? Any vague fabrications will suffice, such as non-existent WMD’s or nuclear ambitions.

If you are a terrorist, a criminal or just a bit anti-social, proof is superfluous. Margaret Thatcher once said, “guilt by accusation is the end of freedom.” So, freedom is as dead as Monty Python’s parrot, it is no more, it has ceased to be, it has expired and gone to meet it’s maker, it’s a stiff, bereft of life, it rests in peace! You may as well submit to the authorities, it will save the judiciary from getting bogged down by court procedures.

Better still, beat the draft and enlist in the armed forces and you can help annihilate everyone with a nuclear wish list. PNAC have already designated the nations scheduled for pre-emptive attack, all they need now is to make the propaganda fit the bill. Denials from Iran are interpreted as lies, and the two infrared detonators discovered intact in Basra, will undoubtedly lead investigators straight to Tehran. How convenient!

I’m sure if the ‘barbarian’ Muslim Jihadi hordes hoped to impose an evil global Islamic Empire, their tactics would not be limited to bombing tube trains and the No.10 bus to Hackney. They could withhold their oil reserves which the West is so dependent on, or advance into Europe with vast armies of militants brandishing the stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons allegedly in their arsenal. But, the opposite is happening…
