classic,
problem, reaction, solution
Government
think-tanks in conjunction with the media are on a drive to
demonise youngsters in the UK, branding them as yobs that
see ASBO’s as a badge of honour. A report suggests Britain
is a nation living in fear of its young people and
allegedly 1.7
million admitted they avoid going out after dark as a direct
result of youths gathering. Boys in hoody’s are more scary
than ‘al Qaeda.’ Propaganda works!
In their defence the kids claim,
“There ain't nothing for us to do” and therein lies the
problem, so what is the proposed solution? National service!
In recent speeches, the Queen, Tony Blair, Gordon Brown and
David Cameron have all emphasised the importance of
“service” in becoming a responsible citizen and although
they haven’t mentioned it yet, they really mean
military service.
David Cameron |
Tory leader Cameron said, “Young
people could be given their adult rights as a reward for
completing a modern day national service scheme.” He
challenged the notion that rights should automatically come
with age, they have to be earned. The incentive he offers to
successful applicants is the privilege of drinking alcohol
before the age of eighteen.
Under-age
drinking is the last thing which is going to encourage good
behaviour!
Gordon Brown |
A breakdown
of the family is cited as the reason our youths are out of
control and
social exclusion minister Hilary
Armstrong says that state intervention will work to improve
the situation. Blair wants potential criminals identified
while still in the womb.
Tony Benn
called this proposal eugenics, but it will necessitate a
national DNA database to keep tabs on every citizen and
micro-chipping at birth.
That will
soon illuminate trouble makers, but since our prisons are
full to capacity, the only option left would be to recruit
offenders into the armed forces to fight the ‘war on
terror,’ After all, we keep getting reminders of how our
troops are stretched to the limit. That is why disaffected
young people are being deliberately lured into crime and
getting a bad press, to create the demand for tougher
measures.
The public
are being conditioned into thinking conscription is their
idea, so that when it is finally offered as the answer to
all our problems, there will be little resistance to it.
This is coupled with a barrage of boot camp and brat camp
type programming by the media and a focus on obesity among
children. I have wondered for a while what their angle was
for this news story, now I know.
Joining up,
we are being told, is the best way to get fit and since the
military have a shortfall of 5,000 soldiers for combat in
the Gulf, it all adds up. It’s not even subtle. The bereaved
mother of shooting victim Jesse James from Moss Side said
she thinks unruly teenagers should be forced to join the
army. They will, and then they can lose weight while
learning to kill, rape and torture with impunity.
