The

s mediation a
tool to resolve many of the problems on this planet today? It
has been well known for a long time that mediation reverses
anger, depression and relieves a person from stress. There is
little doubt that meditation is good for you, but how would it
work on a larger scale?
A two months experiment was done.
Thousands of people came from all over the world to join
together in Washington D.C. to meditate. The purpose was to see
if meditation could lower the crime rate in a city. The outcome
was that the crime rate decreased with 25% over these two
months.
Then they let school children, 10 to 14 year olds meditate in
school, and the result was very positive. The kids became much
calmer, so now they use it as a stress reliever with great
success. Other effects it had was higher self esteem and a more
positive attitude.
Meditation has also been
introduced in prisons; among others San Quentin and Folsom
Prison, and in a number of other different prisons around the world.
It has been such a successful tool to rehabilitate criminals,
that Senegal, after introducing meditation, eventually closed
three prisons within one year!
Dr. John Hagelin, a Harvard
physicist was one of the initiators to this experiment.
